Today
was yet again another travel day! We left our beautiful hotel in Heraklion,
Crete to drive to Chania, which is about three hours away. It was a gorgeous drive and reminded me of Pacific Coast Highway.
When we arrived, I needed to clear my head so I went on a run along the
waters edge through the town, along the harbor, and up to the lighthouse. It
was a super windy day with waves crashing up against the jetty. It was a
wonderful run and was the perfect way to get to know the area. When I came
back, a group of us explored more. I love knowing where I am and what cool
things are around me. I feel satisfied when I get the most out of my stay in an
area. When we got back from exploring we had dinner next door to the hotel.
Afterwards some of us watched Sanctum, which is a movie where they explore an
underwater cave through to the ocean. I recommend never to watch this movie
before scuba diving as it is realistically scary. Tomorrow we are hopefully
hiking the Samaria gorge if it is not closed due to the wind.
