Grand Bizaar and Bosphorous Straight

 September 5

The entire group agreed that today was so far the best day of the entire abroad. The day started off with our usual breakfast on the terrace. We then proceeded to walk to the Grand Bizaar, which is a more giant and confusing version of a swap meet. While there I bought some puffy pants and some other things which I cannot tell you all about :) The best part of it was meeting and bartering with people AND I didn't get lost!!!
After that we had lunch and walked to the Bosphorous Straight where all of the boats are docked. We hopped on a boat and began the greatest adventure yet. We took tons of photos and danced during the one hour boat ride through the straight. The view was unlike anything I have ever seen before. There were so many mosques, some of them right near the water; absolutely breathtaking. Our captain docked the boat on a buoy in the middle of the straight and we jumped off of the boat. I am so excited because my go pro took amazing videos of the group! I am so glad I bought it for this trip. We did front flips and back flips off of the front of the boat, which was my favorite. We stayed there for an hour or so and on the way back our usually hyper group used the boat as a bed. Just about everyone fell asleep in the sunshine. It was so peaceful. Instances like this show that you can find pieces of home no matter where you are. I am so grateful for this group and this day. I will try to post more photos when I have a better wifi connection.
