October 30
Today
was market day so we drove a half an hour to the oldest city: Argos to visit
their market and museum. I bought apples, kiwi, dried fruit, and carrots. There
were also many Greeks who wanted their portraits drawn by Dan and some of our
students. It was fun getting to know the Greeks in this way. After visiting the
museum for two hours we drove back to have two hours free to do whatever. I
decided I would go on a run. I ran with the cruise ship pulling out of the
harbor and back to the beach during sunset. I arrived back at the hotel where
we had Wednesday night service held by Dallen and a short hymn sing held by
Elissa and I.
Starving
we all went to dinner. I went to dinner with Dan, Jessica, Kristen, and Tory. I
had the most delicious Caesar salad. After dinner we ran into another group and
we all got ice cream together. I even spoke a little Greek with the ice cream
man who was very impressed and kind. Also, the three students who we met last night
are part of a group of students going to school in Athens. It turns out that
one of Elissa’s friends is a part of this group of 70 students and she is
currently in Nafplio. It is an extremely small world.
